The perfect alternative to glazing. Perforated balustrade panels combine semi-opaque screening with a distinctive visual appeal, offering more privacy and wind resistance than wire, more light and air than a solid panel. Produced in aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel, in almost any perforation pattern or design, and compatible with a wide range of post frameworks. A bespoke product by nature, with almost any design possible.
Perforated panels are supplied as bespoke fabricated components — cut to your panel dimensions, in your chosen material, pattern and finish. Compatible with SWR’s modular post framework and most standard post systems.
Bespoke perforated panels produced to your exact dimensions. Long-lasting and durable — suited to both interior and exterior applications. Compatible with a variety of frameworks including SWR’s standard modular post system.
Aluminium — lightweight and corrosion resistant, ideal for exterior applications. Mild steel — cost-effective for interior and sheltered use. Stainless steel — premium, fully corrosion resistant, suited to exposed and coastal environments.
Almost any perforation pattern is possible — from fine, high-solid-area patterns for maximum privacy and wind resistance, to coarser open patterns for more light and air movement. Bespoke designs available.
Compatible with SWR round and square modular posts, and most standard tube-and-fitting post frameworks. Panel fixing method confirmed at specification stage.
Powder coat in any RAL colour as standard. Mill finish, satin and mirror polish available on stainless. Anodized finish available on aluminium.
Full installation guide supplied with every order. Configurator-generated component list included for straightforward site assembly.

Each of the four systems below is a complete, modular product set designed for a specific application, built to your spec, fully matched and priced as one. Pick the one that fits your project.
ALUMINIUM CHANNEL · WIND RESISTANT · INDOOR/OUTDOOR
A balustrade system built specifically to reduce wind exposure on elevated or coastal outdoor spaces, without blocking the view or the light. Glass or solid panel infill within a stainless post frame, sized and positioned to act as a wind break where it’s needed most.
MALLEABLE IRON · NO WELDING · FAST ASSEMBLY
Malleable iron fittings clamped onto standard stainless or galvanised tube, assembled on site with a hex key, no welding, no specialist trades. A modular railing system that goes up quickly and can be reconfigured just as easily. Available in hot-dip galvanised, powder coat or bare finish. Compliant with UK building regulations when correctly specified.
SOLID PANEL · STAINLESS OR MILD STEEL · BESPOKE SIZING
Solid or semi-solid stainless screen panels within a post frame, designed to provide a physical barrier where open infill won’t do the job. Used on commercial rooftops to screen plant and equipment, in industrial settings to guard machinery, and in public buildings where a solid barrier is a safety or planning requirement. Bespoke panel sizing available to suit non-standard openings.
PERFORATED STEEL · SEMI-OPAQUE · POWDER COAT FINISH
Stainless or mild steel panels with a punched perforation pattern, set within SWR’s standard modular post frame. Semi-opaque, offering more privacy and wind resistance than wire, more light and air than a solid panel. Perforation patterns available in a range of open areas depending on the level of screening required. Powder coat finish available across the full RAL range.
Perforated balustrade panels are a long-lasting, durable alternative to glazing, suited to applications where a semi-opaque infill is preferred over open wire or full-transparency glass. Almost any design is possible: material, panel size, perforation pattern, open area percentage and finish are all specified to your project requirements. Compatible with a wide variety of frameworks. Addenbrookes Hospital required a large-scale balustrade solution that could improve safety while fitting neatly into a busy healthcare setting.
Yes. Perforated panels are a bespoke product and almost any perforation pattern is possible. Common options include round perforations in various diameters, square or slot perforations, and decorative geometric patterns. The perforation pattern affects the open area percentage — the proportion of the panel that is open versus solid — which in turn affects privacy, wind resistance and light transmission. Tell us what balance you need and we’ll design the right pattern.
Panel dimensions are bespoke to your post spacing and opening size — there is no standard catalogue size. Confirm your post spacing and required panel height at quote stage and we’ll design the panel dimensions to fit your framework exactly.
Perforated panels are compatible with SWR’s round and square modular post systems, and with most standard tube-and-fitting post frameworks. The panel fixing method — whether the panel slots into a channel in the post, or is bolted through — is confirmed at specification stage based on your post system. If you’re using an existing framework, send us the post profile and we’ll confirm compatibility.
Powder coat in any RAL colour is the most popular finish option — available on all three panel materials and across the full RAL range. Stainless steel panels are also available in mill finish, satin and mirror polish. Aluminium panels are available with an anodized finish for additional corrosion resistance and a refined appearance. Confirm your finish preference at quote stage.
Bespoke perforated panels require a design confirmation stage before fabrication begins — typically [X] working days from receipt of your dimensions and specification. Fabrication lead time is confirmed at quote stage and depends on panel complexity, material and current production schedule. For urgent requirements, speak to the team directly.
Tell us your material preference, panel dimensions, perforation pattern idea and post framework — or just describe what you’re trying to achieve — and we’ll design and price a complete solution.
