Protective screens are supplied as ready-to-fit kits or fully bespoke fabricated panels — depending on your application and budget. All systems are designed, fabricated and supplied from SWR’s in-house facility with a large UK stock holding for fast turnaround.
Stainless steel panel screens for permanent commercial and industrial installations. Durable, corrosion resistant and low maintenance. Available in satin or mirror finish, AISI 304 or 316 grade. Custom panel sizing available.
Toughened or laminated glass screening panels for applications where visibility through the screen is required. Clean, contemporary appearance. Suited to architectural and commercial settings.
Perspex (acrylic) screening panels — a lightweight, cost-effective alternative to glass for applications where full transparency is needed. Available in clear, frosted and coloured variants.
Stainless or powder-coated mild steel post and frame systems to suit your screen panel type. Floor fixed, wall fixed or free-standing configurations available.
All fixings, brackets and mounting hardware included with every system. Matched to your panel material and substrate at specification stage.
Full installation guide supplied with every order. Configurator-generated component list included for straightforward site assembly.
Know what you need? Buy components directly from our online store. Have a more complex layout? Send us your drawings or dimensions and we’ll design a full bespoke system and provide a detailed quote.
Each of the four systems below is a complete, modular product set designed for a specific application, built to your spec, fully matched and priced as one. Pick the one that fits your project.
ALUMINIUM CHANNEL · WIND RESISTANT · INDOOR/OUTDOOR
A balustrade system built specifically to reduce wind exposure on elevated or coastal outdoor spaces, without blocking the view or the light. Glass or solid panel infill within a stainless post frame, sized and positioned to act as a wind break where it’s needed most.
MALLEABLE IRON · NO WELDING · FAST ASSEMBLY
Malleable iron fittings clamped onto standard stainless or galvanised tube, assembled on site with a hex key, no welding, no specialist trades. A modular railing system that goes up quickly and can be reconfigured just as easily. Available in hot-dip galvanised, powder coat or bare finish. Compliant with UK building regulations when correctly specified.
SOLID PANEL · STAINLESS OR MILD STEEL · BESPOKE SIZING
Solid or semi-solid stainless screen panels within a post frame, designed to provide a physical barrier where open infill won’t do the job. Used on commercial rooftops to screen plant and equipment, in industrial settings to guard machinery, and in public buildings where a solid barrier is a safety or planning requirement. Bespoke panel sizing available to suit non-standard openings.
PERFORATED STEEL · SEMI-OPAQUE · POWDER COAT FINISH
Stainless or mild steel panels with a punched perforation pattern, set within SWR’s standard modular post frame. Semi-opaque, offering more privacy and wind resistance than wire, more light and air than a solid panel. Perforation patterns available in a range of open areas depending on the level of screening required. Powder coat finish available across the full RAL range.
SWR has been supplying tested and certified balustrade and screening systems since 1989. Our in-house fabrication facility enables us to offer both standard ready-to-fit solutions and fully bespoke designs, covering non-standard panel sizes, complex fixing requirements and unusual substrate conditions. Every system is designed to meet the structural and safety requirements of its specific application. Full specifications and technical data available to download below.

Addenbrookes Hospital required a large-scale balustrade solution that could improve safety while fitting neatly into a busy healthcare setting.
WR supplies protective screens in three primary materials: stainless steel (AISI 304 or 316, satin or mirror finish) for permanent commercial and industrial installations; toughened or laminated glass for applications where visibility through the screen is required; and Perspex (acrylic) for lightweight, cost-effective applications where full transparency is needed. The right material depends on your application, environment and budget — the team will advise at quote stage.
Protective screens are used across a wide range of commercial and industrial applications: plant and equipment screening on commercial rooftops, machinery guarding in industrial settings, permanent safety barriers in public buildings and commercial properties, and architectural feature screening in offices, hospitality venues and retail environments. If your application involves a solid or semi-transparent barrier — rather than an open infill like wire or perforated panel — a protective screen is likely the right solution.
Yes. For more permanent protective screen installations, SWR offers a full survey and installation service. A specialist will visit the site, take accurate measurements, confirm the fixing substrate and installation method, and manage the supply and installation of the complete screen system. This service is available for projects in the South East — contact the team to confirm availability for your location.
Ready-to-fit kits from our UK stock holding can typically be dispatched within [X] working days. Bespoke fabricated screens require a design and fabrication period — quotes are turned around within [X] working days of receiving your drawings or dimensions, with fabrication lead times confirmed at quote stage. For urgent requirements, speak to the team directly and we’ll confirm what’s achievable.
Ready-to-fit kits are pre-manufactured standard panel sizes held in stock for fast dispatch — suited to straightforward applications where standard dimensions work. Bespoke fabricated screens are designed and manufactured to your exact requirements — for non-standard panel sizes, complex geometries or unusual substrate conditions. Both options are available from SWR’s in-house facility. If you’re unsure which suits your project, send us your dimensions and we’ll advise.
Tell us your application, your material preference — stainless, glass or Perspex — and whether you need a standard kit or a bespoke solution. We’ll come back with a specification and price, fast.
