Our round modular balustrade system comes with brackets to support toughened glass, giving you uninterrupted views and an understated, contemporary look. Flexible by design — it can go round corners, over steps and up and down stairs.
A typical round modular system includes the following components, priced and documented for installation. We can supply additional components, post extensions and bespoke lengths by arrangement.
42.9mm or 48.3mm diameter round stainless posts in satin finish. Floor-fixed or wall-fixed variants. 304 or 316 grade.
Matching base plates for floor fixing or wall brackets for face fixing. Pre-drilled and supplied with fixings.
Stainless glass clamps or adapters to hold toughened glass panels at the correct stand-off. Available in matching satin finish.
8mm–17.76mm toughened glass panels, drop-complete and cut to size. Unobstructed views throughout.
Round or slotted stainless top handrail available with or without the system. Supplied to length.
Tensioning tool, full installation drawings (PDF + DWG), and a printed quick-reference card.

Every SWR round modular balustrade system is fully tested and supplied to comply with BS 6180 — the British Standard governing barriers in and around buildings. Toughened glass panels from 8mm to 17.76mm in thickness. Available with or without top handrail. Easy to maintain — satin finish requires no painting or special treatment.

Addenbrookes Hospital required a large-scale balustrade solution that could improve safety while fitting neatly into a busy healthcare setting.
SWR round modular posts are available in 42.9mm and 48.3mm outside diameter. Both are available in floor-fixed (base plate) and wall-fixed variants. The right diameter depends on your run length, post spacing and glass thickness — the configurator will recommend the correct specification, or speak to the team at quote stage.
The round modular system supports toughened glass from 8mm up to 17.76mm in thickness. Glass is supplied drop-complete and cut to your specified panel sizes. Laminated glass is available for overhead glazing or fall-arrest applications where required.
es. The round modular system is flexible by design — it can accommodate corners, changes in direction and stepped or ramped applications. Corner posts, step brackets and adjustable components are available to suit your specific layout. Confirm your geometry at quote stage and we’ll specify the correct components.
Under UK building regulations, a graspable handrail is required in most applications. The round modular system is available with or without a top handrail — if you’re specifying for a staircase or ramp, a handrail will be required. SWR supplies matching round or slotted stainless top rails to suit the system.
304 grade is standard for most indoor and sheltered outdoor applications. 316 marine-grade stainless is available for outdoor, coastal, pool and high-humidity environments. Specify your environment at quote stage and we’ll confirm the correct grade.
